The children and young people want to say goodbye to winter on 1 March 2024 with bells and loud "canera". During the procession, which takes place from 09.40 - 10.45 on the main street in Lenzerheide, they will stop at various points and sing familiar romantic spring songs.
"Chalandamarz" dates back to the time when the Romans ruled over Rhaetia. Back then, Chalandamarz marked the beginning of the year and served to drive away the evil spirits and thus winter.
