Living sustainability

As hosts of the Hotel Schweizerhof, we love being in our beautiful surrounding nature. Whether it's a summer "sünnele" with a cool dip in the Heidsee lake or a snowshoe hike through the snow-covered winter forest. For us, nature is far more than just an adventure playground or a pretty backdrop, it is the centre of our lives. From the point of view of a tourism business, it forms our essential foundation, from the point of view of being human, it is an indispensable source of strength. That is why we, as a whole team, are committed to a respectful, resource-conserving and sustainable approach to nature.

Kids' club for the children of employees

The children of our employees, like our younger hotel guests, can enjoy childcare at the "Andalina" children's club. This means that parents can work undisturbed and still be close by.

Sustainability week learners

Once a year, we organise a sustainability week with our apprentices. We visit partners and role models in the area of sustainability. It is important to us that our apprentices understand and support our sustainability efforts right from the start.

Language course for employees

Our employees are taught by a course initiated in the region to improve their German language skills.

Company health management

The well-being of our employees is our greatest asset. That's why we offer the opportunity to talk to specialists on a voluntary basis through Movis, an independent counselling company operating throughout Switzerland. Our apprentices are mentored by a coach from die Chance.

Cultural commitment

We are committed to culture in the region. We put our heart and soul into organising exciting cultural events on a regular basis. As President of the "Kultur am Pass" association, Claudia Züllig is passionate about strengthening regional cultural activities.

Regional partners & suppliers

When purchasing food and other products, we rely on regional expertise and short distances. We want to know who produces our food and value personal contact and dialogue with the producers.

Water ambassador

Fresh Graubünden spring water straight from the tap - what could be better? To keep it that way, we are committed to awareness-raising measures and partnerships, including with Graubünden Wasser (spring water fund) and Wasser für Wasser.

Sustainable energy concept

Heat recovery in the hamam

Our Alpenchic rooms, which are located in the same building as our BergSpa, are partly heated with the waste heat from the hammam. This means that this heat can be used a second time and we can save energy.

Investments in infrastructure

The main building of the Hotel Schweizerhof dates back to the early years of the last century (1904). Renovations always provide an opportunity to optimise energy use.

The climate crisis is challenging us, but it also offers a valuable opportunity to work together to bring about positive change. By taking responsibility and taking targeted measures in the areas of social, environmental and economic sustainability, we can shape a better future. As a sustainability coach, I look forward to taking this important step together with the Schweizerhof team and developing innovative solutions
