Cultural inspiration arranged by Urs Heinz Aerni

A cultural programme that nourishes mind and soul. To mark the anniversary of votes for women in Switzerland, Urs Heinz Aerni's cultural programme is dedicated entirely to women – from the worlds of film, literature, promotion of the arts, wine-making and travel.

It all started in 2007. Arts journalist Urs Heinz Aerni interviewed a screenwriter about the film “Marmorera”. Hosts Claudia and Andreas Züllig at Hotel Schweizerhof in Lenzerheide were very impressed and because they were interested in offering a cultural programme to complement the spa and sports activities at the hotel, they decided to get Urs Heinz Aerni on board. Now, Schweizerhof guests can enjoy a cultural programme that provides nourishment for mind and soul.

Cultural and family programme in summer 2021

This summer, Urs Heinz Aerni’s guests will be personalities from the worlds of film, literature, promotion of the arts, wine-making and travel. And because this year marks the 50th anniversary of votes for women in Switzerland, all his guests are women. Aerni will be interviewing his guests at the Schweizerhof on seven Wednesday evenings – around the fire in the inner courtyard if the weather is fine.

Summer evening talks with inspirational women

The first guest is Annette König. A German scholar and literary critic for broadcaster SRF, Annette König shares her passion for reading in her literary blog “Die BuchKönig bloggt”. The following week, Urs Heinz Aerni will be talking to author, mentor and life coach Susana Garcia Ferreira about her book “Lebe deine Intention” (live your intention). Next on the programme is winemaker Carina Lipp-Kunz from Maienfeld, who will be considering what we can learn from vines. Elena Holz, who travelled to the slums of Kenya and has written a book about her experience, will be offering an insight into a completely different type of travel. The evening with Esther Girsberger is also something to look forward to. Former chief editor of the Tages-Anzeiger newspaper, publisher, presenter and passionate deep-sea diver, she has a message for women: “We will be heard if we make ourselves heard!” With local director, author and producer Annina Giovanoli, Urs Heinz Aerni will be discussing why culture makes people what they are and what regional culture can offer us. The seventh and last evening in our cultural programme features actress Sylvia Silva. She will be taking a look behind the microphone at the power of voice in film.
